Yesterday we made our way from Katherine to Kakadu. A relatively short road trip into a spectacular part of the world. The size of the termite mounds are significant and as you can see below dwarf Sophie and Annabel.
The country side has changed again and these are the views we were greeted with as we entered the Kakadu National Park.
This morning we had an early start and went on a dawn cruise around YellowWaters and Alligator River. I now know why this a World Heritage listed area. If there was ever a item to be put on your "Bucket List"of things to do in your lifetime - this must be high on the list. The colours, bird life and area are simply stunning. While the photos below are just a few of the couple of hundred I took this morning they only do partial justice to the area we went through this morning.

It is going to be hard to beat this experience - yet we will no doubt find other areas just as spectacular. Over the next couple of days we will continue to explore Kakadu!

Fantastic photos. Yellow Waters is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The photo of the croc with the fish is a cracker!
ReplyDeleteHope your Prado is traveling well. Took the Landcruiser around the farm today - being towed backwards by the tractor! Still very wet under foot! Nothing to do with the driver!!!!
